Circle Web-Server Project 2002

about the project

Circle Server Project is one of Genki Projects at Hokkaido University.
The goal of the project is to provide a official web space for the clubs or the circles in the university. Clubs in Hokkaido University have currently no official web space. A club's website is therefore placed in a personal web space of the university, or in a commercial web server. But these URIs have a problem from the viewpoint of permanence. And it costs much in the case of commercial web servers.

To improve the Internet environment for the clubs, we formed a project to build a dedicated web server by students' voluntary administration. And our plan was adopted by Genki Project Committee. We are now preparing for the project. It will benefit more than 100 circles in the university.
